Project Overview Pollution needs an end! So we have been tasked with cleaning up the Great Pacific Garbage Patch! The colored balls are the Garbage, that can either be recycled (Blue colors & specified team color) or dumped in the landfill (all colors applicable). Bots have 2 minutes and 18 seconds to talk to the COMPASS to register to the game, retrieve their approriate team information, and implement the strategy of their choice.
The game begins with garbage scattered across the board, and the fans in each of the corners blows the Garbage in a circular fashion. There are also two catch points in the corners of the board where recyclable blue balls are periodically launched onto the board.

Landfill
Recycling centers, located in the east and west, can only be opened by emitting a specified frequency at the Recycling Center IR Detector. Once the door has been opened, teams can then deposit balls as long as the door is opened. Any ball can be delivered, but negative points will be applied to balls that are not blue or the color currently accepted by the Recycling Station. The color that is currently accepted by the station will be communicated through SPI via the COMPASS. Teams can also deposit balls into the Landfills, where points are scored based on weight of the Garbage.
Teams had to decide on how to navigate, collect balls, and deliver balls amid all the chaos of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch!
Colors of the Wind - Strategy Overview Our team chose to forgo the choice of line-following for an IR-orienting routine that would bring us close to our desired target, align flush with a wall with two limit switches, and then utilize ultrasonic sensors to find known distances on the board. A strong emphasis was placed upon ball-collection and sorting. Ball-collection worked effectively with two rubber band wheels working in series to bring balls up into the bot. We relied upon the four winds of the board to blow balls into our bot after navigating However, the color sensor stopped working late in the project, so our sorting capabilities were scrapped, and all balls were recycled without regard for color.
